Cabaret
Born
in Paris in 1881, Cabaret is
defined as intimate, live
entertainment. Usually done in a
room seating less than 100 people,
the performance is meant to be
personal. A typical cabaret room
will bring forth images of an
elegant 1940’s night-club,
creating an intimate atmosphere
for entertainment and drinking.
There are several cabarets in New
Orleans:
Le
Chat Noir

Le Chat Noir opened in the summer
of 1999. This cabaret features two
rooms: The Cabaret Room Theater
and the Piano Bar. The Cabaret
Room serves as a venue for musical
theater, cabaret acts and jazz.
The performance schedule changes
monthly, and a variety of
different shows is available each
week. The schedule is generally
Thursday, Friday and Saturday
evenings.
The
Piano Bar is a cozy place to
enjoy a drink and listen to
piano music. It opens Tuesday
through Friday at 4:00 and
Saturday at 5:30. Be sure to try
a Cosmopolitan or a Black Cat,
the two house specialties.

Guests
can experience the authentic
atmosphere of New Orleans'
nightlife at the Bayou Bar,
where cocktails and camaraderie
combine crescent city-style.
Added in 1947, the Bayou bar
remains a popular meeting place
for local professionals as well
as guests. (A favorite hangout
for Frank Sinatra and Frankie
Laine when they visited New
Orleans, the Bayou Bar was also
the place where the New Orleans
Saints NFL agreement was
signed.)
