  NEW ORLEANS > SHOPPING MALLS/CENTERS

SHOPPING MALLS/CENTERS

New Orleans has several shopping malls and centers that feature big name retailers as well as specialty stores. However, the best shopping in this town is done elsewhere in the many eclectic, personalized stores in the French Quarter and surrounding area. But if you must find a good mall while visiting The Big Easy, below we have listed some of the best.

Canal Place

365 Canal Street (where it reaches the Mississippi)

504-522-9200

Fax: 522-0866

A stunning array of high-fashion & specialty shops awaits the visitor to Canal Place. This shopping center holds more than 50 shops, including many big-name retailers such as Brooks Brothers, Bally of Switzerland, Saks Fifth Avenue, Gucci, Williams Sonoma, and Jaeger. The 3-tiered, glass enclosed shopping center is decorated with marble floors, water fountains and pools, giving the structure an air of sophistication.

Open Mon - Wed 10am to 6pm, Thu 10am to 8pm, Fri & Sat 10am to 7pm, and Sun noon to 6pm.

Jackson Brewery

Across from Jackson Square at 600-620 Decature St.

504-566-7245

Fax: 566-7246

The French Quarter's only riverfront shopping & dining marketplace. Once an old brewery, the structure now houses a collection of shops, cafes, delicatessens, restaurants, entertainment, and more. Merchandise found at the 125 shops here include fashion, gourmet cooking products, Creole cooking goodies, toys, hats, pipes, crafts, posters, and souvenirs. Planet Hollywood is also located here, but anyone who has to visit PH while in New Orleans has some self-re-evaluating to do. Be aware that many shops in the Brewery close by 5:30 or 6pm, before the Brewery itself. Open Sun - Thur 10am to 9pm, Fri & Sat 10am to 10pm.

New Orleans Centre

1400 Poydras Street.

504-568-0000

New Orleans newest shopping center, featuring beautiful marble floors & a breathtaking glass atrium. This shopping center includes upscale stores such as Lord & Taylor and Macy’s. Also, there are three levels of specialty shops and restaurants. Open Mon - Sat 10am to 8pm and Sun noon to 6pm.
